In 2008 Helene Schmitz began working on a project about Carnivorous plants. Schmitz was captivated by how Carnivores violate our preconceptions of how flowers should behave. These plants act far from the common perception of plants as passive and peaceful, as they lure and kill their pray with deceitful, dazzling appearances.
National Geographic Magazine published her story worldwide in March 2010.
